Doctoral Student Receives APS Award

FIU Clinical Science is proud to congratulate Kat Crum, who received the SSCP Student Poster Distinguished Contribution Award at last week's annual meeting of the Association for Psychological Science.

Kat's poster was entitled, "Callous-unemotional traits moderate the relationship between specific parenting practices and child conduct problems." Her findings showed that the impact of contextual parenting factors on child conduct problems (CP) varied as a function of callous-unemotional (CU) trait severity. The influence of specific parenting practices differs across settings (school vs. home) and type of CP (Oppositional Defiant Disorder vs. Conduct Disorder), suggesting that targeting certain aspects of parenting may be especially beneficial for children with high vs. low CU trait levels.

Way to go, Kat!
